Collin County-Dedicated Ambulances to Begin Service on Monday

(McKinney, TX) - American Medical Response (AMR) will begin operation of three new Collin County-dedicated ambulances on Monday. The Type III box-type ambulances are bigger than traditional ones and provide additional working-room inside. The new ambulances are also clearly marked with Collin County information.

"We've had dedicated ambulances before, but never this size," says Collin County Administrator Bill Bilyeu. "With these new ambulances, taxpayers will see exactly where their money is going."

"These ambulances are brand-new and have the latest technology," says Collin County Fire Marshal Steve Deffibaugh. "We really think that residents will have a sense of stability with the new ambulances and with our AMR contract."

AMR has been a service provider to Collin County since November.

A brief photo opportunity will be available at 2 p.m., Monday, March 1st, outside the Fire Marshal's Office at 825 N. McDonald Street in McKinney.
