Collin County Alert Update

"Shelter" request lifted for residents of the Farmersville area

(McKinney, TX) – A request to "shelter in place" has been lifted by Collin County for residents in the Farmersville area. Earlier today, residents in Farmersville and areas north and east of the city were asked to remain in their homes or businesses because of a fire at a fertilizer plant in neighboring Hunt County.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, air quality conditions are no longer a possible threat.
